TOPIC: Age?

Does anyone have an idea how old this root is? The Rhizome is approx., 3\"

It looks to be somewhere between 20-24 years of age, give or take a couple of years.

Yeah thats what i was think about 24 years old.

Keep in mind that the plant occasionally goes dormant, and won't put up a top for a year. So if you count 20 scars, it's probably 25+ years old.

I agree w/ the others Taz, somewhere in the low to mid 20's. Use both index fingers and put a nail on each scar. Turn it around and look on both sides and use your other finger for the next one you find and keep working your way to the top. It will give you a good estimate.
