Hello yall. My late Grandpa used to dig lots of seng and I've seen it dried when I was young. I am new to this as this is my first time going at it. I have about 70 roots and because of work I only get a few hours a week in the woods.
I have concentrated my digging to 2 places so far about 15 miles apart. The first place the roots were darker in color than the second place. Is that normal?
Second, I have dried about 50 of those roots in an outdoor shed on a screen I took off an old screen door. All of them dried kind of a brownish/golden color. The other 20 I have in the house in a spare room on paper towels. They all dried quite a bit whiter in color. Is that normal? And which do buyers prefer?
Thanks.
