TOPIC: Where do you get 22 long rifle and other Ammo needed now days ?

Over a month ago, Cole and I shot up all of our 22 long rifle just target practicing in the back yard.

Been checking WalMart and other local sporting goods stores since then and have found NONE - shelves are all empty.

Have been to a larger Walmart in another county a time or two and a large sporting goods store there too and NO LUCK.

You guys had any luck finding regular stuff like 22 long rifle, 22 mag, anywhere ?

Any luck with ordering ammo online ?

I know most seng hunters like to pop caps tooooo - Like I do

Online is the only way to go now. I use cabelas n if yhere out they send them as soon as theu get them. Good luck findin them tnhunter

I have ordered several times from Cabela's.

Just never had to buy ammo online - it's always been easy to find - but this last time I ran out - I sure found out different !

Check out Gunbot it is a really great tool to use and its free.

I checke Cabela's this morning and when you go to ammunition, rim-fire, they do not even list 22 LR or 22 Mag.

I checked BassPro, Sportsmansguide, Gandermountain... and most of them will list them but when you go to purchase it says SOLD OUT, or notify me, etc...

I have a older high-standard 22 lr pistol and it really has to have a higher velosity round to cycle and shoot without jamming...

I usually shoot CCI Stinger 22 LR 33 gr, 1750 fps out of it and it shoots great. With lower velosity rounds it jams a lot.

Have had good luck with the Remington 22 LR yellow jacket - they are 1500 fps.

That is what I am looking for.

Probably way to far a drive but I just picked up some 25 ammo the other day from a small gun shop out in the country here. Not alot of people know about him. I did noticed he had plenty of 22 ammo as we were discussing how hard it is getting to find it. I'm not sure what they laws are about shipping something like that or I would offer to go get some and send it to you.

...and I received info last night that there are a number of CARGO SHIPs full of foreign made ammo sitting in customs at this very moment. However, the order came directly from the Whitehouse that NO ammo was to be released to the American public under any circumstances.

Sort of makes you wonder what side the Whitehouse is on, and gives new meaning to the DHS targets of women and children.

The Sportsman's Guide. I have found what one of those doesn't have, the other usually does. TSGuide is usually less expensive, with both companies having similar quality. I also like Ammoman.com, however this is a bulk buy only.

If you ever get in a bind and can't find none at all I will meet ya half way from Knoxville and give you 100rnds for free of CCI. Consider it trade for the knowledge you have shard with everyone.
