TOPIC: Americans not selling seed to Canada

Over the years I have seen many ginseng sites that state they do not sell their seed to Canada. They say the reason is to keep American seed American so we can claim that our seed is the best and our ginseng is superior.
Well this is all crap,the Canadian ginseng growers ship truck loads of seed every year south of the border to your major ginseng growing areas and Americans ship seed north. They work together,who ever has a glut of seed sells it to their neighbours.
So don't believe the whoopla about American seed being superior and protecting the genetics.
If you are in dought check to see what papers are needed to ship a truck load of seed north over the border and how easy it is for large producers.

I would have to disagree with you about the genetics.

If you are growing gensing [not nec., you, but anybody] that is from a certain area, then why not attempt to keep the strains pure as possible?

Canada ships to the US of A and the US of A ships to Canada and genetics are not a concern. If you are concerned with that then you need to be very diligent in hunting down true wild seed from your area. But growing these seeds would be unethical and illegal now adays.

i have plants grown from ontario seed and wisconsin seed seem the same to me.good luck with both, years ago i got some bad seed that came from wis.
