Lenno, I used to. But, a couple bad years of your own stratifying that much seed and you will learn better! Green seed and stratified seed is all the same price on the wholesale level. So, there is no real advantage to buying green over stratified, float and viability tested seed. The one big advantage to self stratifying is that even when I did it above ground, I got lots of grinners out of the box on good years. Commercially stratified seed is stratified in controlled conditions and normally much drier.(making for higher viability and less disease). However, in the seed I sell you will seldom ever see a grinning seed until early spring.

Its probably best that it didn't post but Hobler6, hit the nail on the head in his post. Botton line is after years of planting and the same poor results, im tired of making excuses for everything except what the real problem is. i will just leave it ar that.

I hear ya. Handling and care for these seed is no joke when they are so expensive! I have had on two different occasions, seed sent to me that I felt wasn't what should be but I planted it anyway. Sure nuff, it didn't germinate when seed from other sources did right beside of it, and planted at the same time. Yea, it will come up later, unless you have a super dry year like 2012 and it dries and kills the seed. Im still steaming over that 15lbs that failed.....
