Are the common shelf mushrooms Chaga or a form of Chaga? If so, I see them all of the time in the woods and many folks around here collect the large ones, dry them then carve scenes or faces into them.
No being sarcastic but from viewing some of the pics online, some of the specimens look like a pile of cow dung on a tree! Not very appetizing looking are they?

I think chaga is a mushroom shaped like a big ugly tree growth right? It grows on birch if I remember correctly. I have looked on some birch down here but never saw any. I may know someone that would buy yours so send me an email.
