Just A Senging,
I am not an expert and probably shouldn't give advice on possible treatments for these type of roots but here goes. First, I would brush off all or as much mold as possible with a small brush or even toothbrush, then (and I am not sure about this) wash the roots vigorously in clean fresh water and remove any remaining mold if possible. Rinse again then quickly dry the roots with a blow dryer. Once done, follow the instructions on how to dry Bloodroot at the following website to properly dry Bloodroot:

If you have gotten rid of the mold, you should know in a day or so! Hopefully someone with expert knowledge will chime in and tell you how to remove the mold and keep it off!
The only other possibility I can think of that should remove the mold is a very light solution of unscented Clorox or other Bleach in water. Quickly run the roots through the solution, rinse with clean fresh water several times, then dry with a blow dryer. After this, again follow the instructions at the above website. I do not know if this technique would be frowned upon but the roots would not be soaked in the solution, just quickly washed in it to kill the mold then rinsed several times with clean fresh water.
