The ones on that black matt look like a different variety with all those hair roots.

Yep that would be chinese ginseng.

Careful digging indeed. I guess if that was my occupation and I went a year or so to only find one I would dig carefully also. I am sure they send up the hallelujahs when they spot one.
Chinese ginseng grows a bit differently than ours, one characteristic Iv noticed is alot longer and more hair roots.

Yeah Hopper, finding wild seng in China is about as often as a 'Hole in one' here! They got plenty of time between roots to do a perfect extraction.

Those are impressive roots. The one in the third photo was incredible. As were the prices paid for the stuff on that video.

I'm guessing that the folks there in china are spending all that money they have made from selling to Walmart!
