TOPIC: Any speculation on Ginseng prices yet?

Any speculation on what Ginseng will be going for in Ohio and would it be better to sell it in another state?

I used to hunt Ginseng with my Dad and Grandpa several years ago and I am going to start again this year and hope the old places we used to find tons will still produce.

Many plants are going down early with the drought and heat this year. By the time ginseng season gets here, many plants may not be standing. Some are suspecting the demand to possibly exceed the supply. So if that is the case it is possible prices could go up. Also I would recommend selling your roots in Ohio. Ohio prices fair really well.

I won't likely have price information until a week before the season starts. Also, you can't sell Ohio root outside of Ohio without it being certified by the Division of Wildlife first. Don't want to see you getting in trouble there. Call your game protector or district office and they will hook you up with the investigator who will certify for you. (costs $3/pound)
