I have been looking for ways to help control or irradicate the rodents on our wild ginseng sites for years now. Recently a friend mentioned that they had caught a large milk snake up in Tanglefoot. This is some sort of sticky stuff you can paint on the trunk of trees to control insects. It is sticky like flypaper.
So I think these two things used around the plants as barriers will help control these little buggers.

I have been cautious about using rat/mice poision in my areas.. Don't wqnt that stuff to get into the wrong mouths, and unintentionally poision something. There is a way to0 creat mouse poison \"traps\" using 4\" black corr tubing like you can use for drainage. I have tried that out back of my house where I ahave a big problem.

I cut ^\" of that Black drainage tubing. Put approiate dosage in to put a hurt on the little buggers. Secure the tubing with rocks so it isn't easily moved. Place ia area where you have had problems. Replace the stuff as needed.

I really like the Snap-traps, however is unrealistic to place these around the woods, IMHO.
