Link doesn't work, but digging doesn't do as much damage as a timber co like Plum Creek clear-cutting hardwoods that is top Gingseng habitat. Deer may eat tops, grubs a few roots, take away the hardwood trees and spray, plant pines and see how the gingseng does.
