I am between Somerset and bowling green the price I quoted was from barren co I was told 430.00 yesterday I do usually get a little better quote. I work with forestry and they know there is several people who may sell to them when I call so its probably 10 bucks more or so. Jack, do you have any wildfire out there in the mountains yet? Ive been out there on several but its been a couple of years.

Looks like KY. and TN. are being spanked a little this year. The prices have floated up and down at around $400 for a full lb.

I've talked to some of the bigger buyers and the reasons are:
Too much root left over from last year.
Diggers not harvesting correctly (even underage) and taking care of their roots properly.
Diggers holding over 1 year to several years causing deteriation of color and taste.

We need to upgrade our practices so we can get premium prices.
