TOPIC: Newbie says hello

Hello to all from Bill in North Central, WV.

First and foremost, I have been following along here for about a month or more, and you folks have a wonderful site, along with several very knowledgable members. I like this place!

As noted above,I hail from North Central, WV, and also spend a lot of my outdoors time in our mountains SSE of here. For years, my outdoors time was spent trapping, hunting, and trout fishing. I have also dabbled in, and dug some 'sang during those years, but never to any great extent. Over those years, the normal scenario would be for me to sell partial lbs. of root along with my fur.

Anyway, I can no longer trap (or hunt) as hard as I used to, so I now want to get a bit more involved with 'sang, both hunting it and growing some. (Probably wild simulated, and woods grown.)

I do try to use google, and good books as much as I can in order to avoid bugging anyone with researchable answers, but once in awhile, the search engine just can't get specific enough, and I will be needing some help. To my good fortune, I found this site, and in reading along, I knew that this is where I wanna' be.

I'll be posting a couple of questions later on today, and once again, Congrats on a great site.

welcome aboard Bill! This is a pretty great site for those interested in Ginseng and most of the guys who post on here regularly are truly class acts and great individuals.

I would've answered sooner, but I've been up in the mountains 'sangin a bit for the past two days.

Our season here opened on the 1st.

Edit: Sprong, I meant to add that I indeed do find this to be a really nice site, as I have been reading along here for awhile (before registering) and I see a lot of 'sang experience/knowledge, and many fine helpful folks.
