I have one growing on my seed bed plant. I see them now and then too. They are cool.

I have a nice four prong growing in my shade garden behind the house. It lost 7 mature green berries today. They were just laying on the ground. It must be the heat. The last 7 days have been nearly 100 degrees. Just got some rain finally in the last couple days. I have never seen green berries fall of like that.

Latt are you going to watch those green berries to see what they do ? I am interested in seeing how they do seeing that the heat has got to them to drop that way,I wonder will they turn, did the intence heat develop the berry inside more than normal or did it basicaly kill them etc,I know im not one who gets into these type conversations alot but this realy interest me seeing im new at woodsgrown seng etc.

Billy,
I just took the 7 green berries and pushed them into the soil 1/2 inch seep and covered with some mulch. They looked fully developed but haven't turned red yet. Seeds from green berries buried have a better chance of germination than seeds from red berries that are left to lay on the surface of the soil. I remember some statistics on a thread explaining this. So I do bury all seeds red or green in September if I dig the root.
