TOPIC: Long promised picture of 1 pound root

Hey guys, here is a picture of the one pound root my fiancee's grandfather dug back in 1976. I know the picture quality isn't the best, but you get the idea. I had to take the picture with my phone of the picture. I was told the root had two four prongs stacked on top of each other. The root actually weighed in at 15 ounces. Enjoy!

yes wet for sure. It would have to be a true monster to be a pound dry! the original picture shows a lot more detail which truly shows the depth and size of the root....it's a shame i couldn't get a better picture.

Can you imagine the value of that root today? What a find!

Just wondering but have you got to look around were he found that monster?

Na I sure haven't. To be honest I didn't even ask him where he found it partly because I think that i'd be puting him in an uncomfortable situation. It probably took him 30 years to find that spot, and I'd hate to steal that information from him if he didn't want to really give it. He has 5 sons so I imagine they have since hit the spot. I talked to his one son and he told me three years back, he found a 9 ounce root.
