Well chief, we went crappie fishing yesterday and only had 4 keepers, maybe a little early yet, at least I thought. We passed a woman fishing by herself with a spider rig trolling bandits, which is the same thing we were using. The only difference was she was using a heavy weight about 6ft above the lure. I mean to tell you she was pulling the crappie in hand over fist. She had em on two at a time, never seen anything like it, lol. She sure made us look bad. I don't think we were quite getting deep enough. Anyway, I went sengin early this morning it was 50 degrees and nice. I ended up digging 13.3oz's today. Didn't find any pretty gold tops yet, most were still green, or just starting to turn, and half eaten by bugs it seemed.

Got out this morning and did some exploring. I hiked all the way up to the top of a big steep ridge a place I haven't hunted for a while, and found some gold tops and some still green. I ended up pulling a little over 19 oz's just off that one ridge top, but boy was it a hike up there. I spent all morning in that one area. The sun never did come out today stayed overcast all day. Suppose to get some rain tomorrow. Bear season starts tomorrow and I believe I'll let em have it for a week. Hope to get out one more time anyway before end of October.
