TOPIC: High Mountain Sengin 2017

Hello all, was debating on whether to get out in the woods today, and I'm glad I did. I got in the there about 11 o'clock, and had to be back in town by 3 for an appointment. I hunted in between two steep ridges with a creek running through the middle. I was actually quite surprised and pleased with the green and yellow seng I was finding. Most of the real green healthy seng was along the creek and low areas with one 4 prong I actually found literally growing in the creek. I also stumbled upon a nice 5 prong!, and several really nice 4 prongs. This is only the second 5 prong I've found which had a 1.7 oz root. With all the ugliness going on in the country and around the world it was nice to get out in God's creation. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and there families in the Vegas tragedy. Let us not take one day for granted!

found this guy literally growing in the creek. I flipped over a rock and the root was laying right on top of the creek bed, very strange!

And yes, the tragedies going on today are really heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with those in Vegas and abroad as well.

Thanks trapper, Found my share of yellow wilted ones for sure today, but seems there was just enough green to get me back in there tomorrow, and hopefully put in at least half a day. As always good and safe hunting to everyone!
