I hope im able to go back and see it in a few years ... age and mobility might take its toll on me by then , do you guys pop the seeds and separate the 2 seeds or cover up the red berry ? I took some pictures but computers and me don't get along to well. happy hunt'n

I am working hard to get spots close to home and easy to get to in good shape for when I am older. I'm not getting any younger and want to be able to get to good spots easier as I get less mobile. I don't separate them Batman. Not sure if it's right or wrong, but I guess I figured there are two in a berry for a reason. I always look at it as a two for one if I can dig two together, but I hate when there are a bunch clumped up..... Good luck!

batman..

I don't worry with popping the berry and separating the seeds either...

If you just plant the berry (with 2 seeds in it) and follow up on it... by the time those seeds go thru the stratification process (from that fall, thru the winter, spring, summer, fall again, winter again, then spring and finally sprout)...

The two seeds will often be separated by natural soil movement (freezing, thawing, heaving, etc)... and when they finally do sprout they will be as much as 2 inches apart.

I have followed up on them like that and seen that happen.
