That's a beautiful root and awesome plant as well, no offense but the root KIND OF looks like it has had some fertilizer applied maybe once or twice as the rhizome is very fat in comparison to the size of the main root and the roots are way to SMOOTH, of course i am SURE i am wrong, just saying...beautiful root!!

That was at least a mile off any trails crossed a few very steep hollows I believe it was 100% wild.

another beautiful root !! and like i said i am quite sure i am wrong!! By the main roots being so very smooth it would imply that the soil those roots were growing in was extremely loose,..great roots brother

I know what u mean Vermont one hollow I dig in the seng can be dug by hand the soil is so loose and black. every root is shaped like a carrot big or small.

Very very loose Very rich black soil closer to the bottom of a hill
