TOPIC: ginseng & cedar trees

I have been told that hunting where cedar trees are growing is a waste of time because ginseng will grow where a cedar tree grows. Is this true?? Thanks.

I have found ginseng under and around cedar trees but it usually doesnt grow well around cedars. I wouldnt spend my time looking in a cedar thicket.
