Yeehaa! I've been working this really big steep ravine. Monday I went down one side and scaled up the other and hit some nice old ones. I tried to keep going up but it was getting pretty dangerous, so after work today I thought I'd go to it from the top of that side and work down, and see what was up there. From a 4 wheeler trail I figured I would have a short hike to the ravine. I parked the 4 wheeler, got off and spoted a nice 4 stemmer. I dug a dozen roots in a half hour. Can't wait to get back there and work it out, maybe Sunday. Stay tuned, this could get good.

Some of those roots look like they may reach all the way to China. Great job of digging.

Good looking roots Maya....those are real nice, are you able to dig with your hands?

SNV, I think if it was drier I could get the roots by hand for the most part. I had to use a screw driver a little, but much of it by hand. Each root took about five minutes or so to dig. I'll try and get some pics of this dirt tomorrow, it is unbelievable! I always use my screw driver to loosen the soil as I go out to the end of a hair root.

Some good sized ones today. One just over 2oz, and 2 that were an oz.
