TOPIC: Kentucky prices as of today

A few days ago when I made this post the Kisers were paying 635 and a dealer in southern ky was down to 500. And all others I talked to were in between

I saw your username so I looked at your profile and saw who you were. It's Clayton I went to school with you. I don't know them but dad does, He has sold there before.

yeah them kisers are good people to deal with for sure,been selling roots to them for several years now.

There has been a lot of ginseng dug this year. Also there are lot more diggers and more dealers than ever before. A lot of ginseng being held and I mean a lot. I get calls every day saying I've got 5 or I've got 15 or 20 lbs. and the problem is they want more than I can sell it for. I was talking to my buyer and he told me there was a lot poorly dug and mishandled ginseng showing up from newbies.(because of the shows).
I wonder what is going to happen on prices when the flood gates of ginseng open up if it ever does.

Paid $520 To $540 a lb. dry yesterday Sat. 18th
Have to wait until Monday for another price quote.

I buy at the farmers market at downtown square Monticello,Ky.(Wayne Co.) on Saturdays 9:30 to 12:00 EST.
I buy mostly from my local diggers and surrounding counties.
My buyer wants the short bulby roots that grows in this part of southeastern Ky.
I'm still paying $520 to $540 a lb.

rootman, do you expect these prices to stay the same or go up some later on?
