Don't count on it! For my area, they are batting about .100. Rain, snow, sun, warm, cold, I just throw a dart and head outside to see what's happening.

83 degrees here yesterday, supposed to be warmer today by a couple more degrees. I'm wishing that I could put some of my veggies I started into the ground, and I may do it anyway.... even thos there's likely danger of a \"late\" frost here....

Here's springtime poem for you nature lovers out there...

SPRINGTIME SYMPHONY, OPUS 10 BILLION

Starting so faintly, triple pianissimo
Oddly rhythmic however hardly defining the beat
Syncopated with louder, short notes
These gradually crescendo...

Crickets? Or are these treefrogs?
Treefrogs I think
Their small chirp sounds so birdlike
Crickets are more raspy.

The treefrogs are the first to sing
Later the toads join them in singing
And, still later un-mistakenly,
Come the deep note of the bullfrogs....

The soprano voices of the treefrogs
The altos are the crickets
The baritones of the the toads
And the bass of the bullfrogs.

They hardly wait for dusk
Early evening starts the prelude
This opus is fully orchestrated by the time it's dark
A vibrant chordal tonality, moving seemingly without dimunendo.

Nice poem Whit.

I wrote this one below yesterday. It took me about 8 hours to finish it.

\"Roses are Red
Tree Frogs are Green
Hear them chirping
Tho seldom seen\"

We hit 45 the last couple days! Feels great. Pruning is all done, had the wifey and friend pick up the branches for me ...big help. Hopefully we can start grafting in a few weeks, got about 100 trees to top work. Changing over to different varieties that have been selling real well. Zestar! and Liberty. Give them a try if you've never had them.

Thanks for asking about the back HH, but unfortunately it looks like I'll have some chronic problems, I'll just have to live with it. I went to a spine specialist last fall, he said I actually broke 5 vertebrae's. A couple ribs are messed up, didn't heal good. One pops in and out at the vertebrae when I'm lying down. Doesn't hurt but it's pretty annoying. :S I can get out and dig, but I don't think I'll be setting any records! I did manage to dig about 50 roots last fall, but that was just at some real easy places to get to.
