Thanks for the input Hugh. I am not so much concerned with the root growth anymore. I am the type of person that keeps Honey bees just to help the Bees I have not robbed mine in two years. I Figure shade is my problem The dirt is black as coal and rich as can be and there is feldspar mines all over it.If I understand Gypsum is always close to Feldspar. As far as adding anything to the soil or spraying or setting mole traps Na I let it go I figure that God can do more for it than I can.I like for critters to get some seed it has a good chance of passing through them with natural fertilizer.lo.I only save a portion of my seed to plant back Thats why I am satisfied with my method. This is a hobby for me and Have never sold old over 3.5 dry pounds in a year. I am more interested in the survival of the plant. When I was young my paw took me hunting for it and Told me that it would be wiped out by the time I was grown.I have been able to hunt around 900 acres of property for several years now with permission. I always bought 1-3 pounds of seed to plant on these lands now I only have 185 acres left to hunt since last year. The government purchased the rest. I usually go and top the small stuff but since they purchased the property and wont even let me ride my atv across it or get some ramps for my tators then I will let them deal with the poachers. I walked many a mile to help the plant survive and now I will just worry about my own.
