TOPIC: Ginseng Sprouting up North

So I live way up north, and this was a long winter this year but my ginseng is finally pushing up through the leaves. Seems to me the mice got a few areas the turkeys scratched up a few others, but for the most part they are sprouting. I've got a high area and a low area. The low area has all pretty much sprouted, but the high area hasn't so much yet. Not sure exactly why, could be the angle of the sun I suppose. The leaf litter coverage looks pretty good, but it gets windy near the top and I worry a bit that leaf litter may have been blown away enough to dry out the seeds. We'll see I guess, if it's good it should sprout eventually.

It seems like since I'm up north I'm the late comer to the party when it comes to sprouting. Anyway I got some more pics.

They seem to be coming up pretty well. I have them spread out a bit further than most people I'd say. Since this is wild sim and I want them as natural as possible. I will be putting up barbed wire around the area though since it's frequented by deer and turkeys almost nightly year around.

this is the densest area I found so far. A bit denser than I'd like. The large variability in density is due to the planting technique I used, which produces a very nice random distribution. There's a Big Tooth Aspen (poplar) seedling in the middle of the picture. I'll probably transplant it as to not interfere with the ginseng.

Wow deer are already in my ginseng eating it. I need to put that barbed wire up tomorrow!

I checked a couple spots I dig up at 2000', nothing yet, but turkey hunting this morning down low I found about 50!
