travisnc,
Agree with Classicfur - would be interesting to hear some details about your growing efforts (success, failures, what you have learned over the years).
I would especially be interested in hearing what planting method you use to get that kind of acerage planted.
I have 230 acres of land to work with myself (own it) and it does have wild seng growing on it.
Using rake/scatter method I can plant 4-5 pounds of seed each fall/winter. Last fall/winter was my first attempt at planting wild simulated and I had some very good luck with that.
Mike over at hardwood ginseng suggested that with the acerage that I have that I should automate the planting process some - he suggested broadcasting seed and then using a tiller to work it into the top 1-2\" of soil - tilling no more than 2\" deep.
Evidently that is a method that he has used and had good luck with.
Last year I planted mine using rake/scatter method - which I am happy with, and plan to do more of, but I would not be opposed to trying out other methods that may be more efficient at getting more acers planted.
Hope you don't mind sharing some of your experienced with us.
Best of luck with your seng growing !
