I looked up pipsissewa and although its the closest match so far I think this is something different. The leaf edges are very smooth and the plant is fleshy not woody. I have found three seperate bunches of them, on three different north slopes, all close to seng. They may be the remnant flowers of old bench garden sites of my ancestors. I plan on digging a few and replanting where I can keep an eye on them. Oh by the way, the cohosh is doing better than anything else in my neck of the woods.
