TOPIC: Sign that it's time for Morel's to show up

Hey Guys,

I checked that Soil Temp Map on the morels.com site again just now.

It was warm yesterday and today, real nice.

I was wondering how often that soil temp map updated.



Now it is showing my location (south of Nashville) in the 50-55 degree soil temp band.

Anyway - looks like a couple of warm days can change the soil temp fairly quick.

Might have to get out and look for some before long, especially if it keeps being warm like this.

My 7 day forcast is showign this for today 69/59 then the next 3 days 74/47, 70/52, 76/48.

Could be some popin out soon with those kind of temps and the soil in the 50-55 range.

I found this site, www.mushroom-appreciation.com/growing-morel-mushrooms.html it has some info along the lines of what Latt is talking about with keeping the water from washing the mushrooms. I am going to try it as soon as I find some Morels.Much luck to all!
