One of the things they use it for is to treat skin cancers, moles, etc..
It is made into a past/cream called black salve.
If you search youtube there are some interesting video accounts where black salve or bloodroot cream is used to remove skin cancers, moles, etc ...
Not all of them ended this well. One lady supposedly lost most of her nose. Spooky stuff.
I harvested a half pound or so of bloodroot for my Cousin last fall. He has had colon cancer and said he it taking small amounts of root daily to hopefully ensure that it does not come back.
After seeing some of these youtube vids, not sure I would be brave enough to give it a try.
No, I put down a half inch of peat, mix the seed with peat and spread it on top, then put another half inch over that. So it is about 1/2 to 1\" deep at most.
TNhunter,
Here is a clip of a message I sent to a friend who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. There is actual scientific FDA approved studies on turkey tail mushrooms vs tumors.
Anyway, here is some information on turkey tail mushrooms. There are a couple articles here, but there is a TED conference from Paul Stamets and also a Coast to Coast AM radio show where he talks about using these for cancer in more detail.
