Hey min
Don't look to hard its not the best thing that grows with shang. It grows in the worst place for shang too. Thereis a post in hunting wild ginseng iI think the link is best companion plants it should have what ur looking for good luck

That looks like sarsaparilla to me.

I find it in areas with ginseng. I think some of the old timers called it fool's sang.

A young hickory sapling will fool you too or make you do a double take.. has very similar leaf pattern to ginseng.

Minnesota... here is a picture that may help you some with spotting ginseng.. There is a 3 prong ginseng plant in the midst of a bunch of virginia creeper vine.

What makes it stand out (to the trained sang hunter eye) is the leaf pattern. 3 larger leaves pointing out from the center and 2 smaller leaves pointing in towards the center.
