Im so pumped me n my partner webt to an area tgat has been dug in twenty yrs n found over 300 plants. I've taken the 1st week of September off so I can dig like a fool. Here's a couple pics.

What state are you in Hobler? That ginseng looks healthy as can be. Everything I have seen in NC mostly is dwarfed or dying. Doesn't matter anyway for me there is a moratorium on ginseng here.

I live in NY . This yr everthing is great I've been out a few times n have found well over 700 great lookin plants not counting the babies. I'm sorry to here bout your season that would drive me nuts hope u have better luck next yr.

NY ginseng is beautiful. Love the leaf shape and the dark green color. Leaves seem to be thick and firm. Pics of NY seng always seem to have these characteristics. Must be some good soil there in NY.

The soil here is great most place its dark rich easy diggin then we ve got rocky with good dirt n also that fine rocky soil those places r great but also have the hard stuff where even my screw driver wont go in n rips yhe skin off my fingers lol

Hobbler...

It is like a double decker berry pod.

I have a big old stout 4 in my seed bed and it has a berry pod similar to that except there is less seperation between the berry cluster locations. Just a short stem between the two.

It is cool looking for sure and like yours the lower berries are developed but the upper are a little behind.
