TOPIC: so excited. one root with two tops!

Just found a root with two tops. Saw two fourprongs and they were awfully close together. They are connected to the same root! Do these command higher prices? It weighs in at .8 ounces.

Congrats on a nice find. Post a pic of the root if you can.

I don't know of any special market price for roots sporting multiple tops but they are for sure exciting to find for the seng hunter.

I found two last year.. see the pic below..



I did not sell those two last year - I kept them and ate them myself.

I found one scouting a week or so ago and it sure looks like it has two tops off one root from the top site. It is 2 - 3 prongs and they come up right side by side. I will be digging it up first week in September and will post a pic of it then.

That is a cool find. If you think about it I am surprised we don't see it more often, as most berries have two seeds that are deposited in the same spot. This clump was two that grew up together. What a mess!
