TOPIC: Old One found today

Found this one today. It may be the oldest plant that I've ever found. The early scars on the neck just aren't clearly defined enough to count everyone of them, but I am confident that this plant is easily over 40 years old. The most scars I ever remember counting on a plant was 43. I believe that this one may be older.



That more ball shaped root on the left is the orignal root. From there the neck goes over to the other main root on the right and then loops back to the left and then upward where I left a piece of the stem and and growth bud so that you guys could see where it started and ended. It doesn't matter how you hold the one you just can't see all of the neck at once. Over Forty years old and weighs just 6 tenths of an ounce.

Now that is a nice one.

The big roots are nice, but I appreciate the smallish roots that have long curls even more.

You know that it was not in a ideal growing situation since the root never got big, but it survived all of those years anyway. It had what it took to hang in there anyway.

I went thru my drying racks the other day and hand picked out several small old roots like that to keep for my own consumpiton.

Here is a pic of some of them.

A few of them are not much larger than that penny and I do expect those to do me the most good !
