I remember seeing this one from another fella on here. Go to that topic and check it out. You can search it too. If you have a hard time put in the word Palm Tree and one link will come up and click on that. One fella refered to the plant as a palm tree it was so big.

FTB,

Here is by far the biggest bunch ,,,top wise,,,of Wild Ginseng we have ever found it was 40 & 1/4 inches tall from the ground to the tip of the berry pod and the deer had eaten the top out I believe it would have easly measured 44 inches with the pod in tact. There was other nice 4 prongs around it and they looked small compared to it.

I was so tickled to find such a giant just short of 4 foot tall that I brought it home for my family and friends to see my youngest son Caleb loved it the leaves would cover my entire hand over on either side I might ad that it was good eating :) it`s been awhile now but I think the root was above 4 ounces....

Billy,

WOW - now that sure is a BIG ONE there.

The leaves are GIANT and that berry stem looks to be 16\" long.

No doubt it liked where it was living.

About 20 years ago over in another county I found several nice 3's and some big 4's in a patch. As I was about to dig one of those 4's I went to break the brush out of the way and about the time I grabbed what I thought was a small sapling in the way I noticed the leaves on it and it was seng.

I had been there several minutes digging different bunches of seng and never even noticed this one because - well it was just too big to be seng.

That was sure a long time ago, but best I remember it was very tall (possibly 36\") and I do remember that I had on a shirt with buttons up the front and the stem on that plant would not fit thru a button hole.

That is the biggest one I can ever remember seeing her in Middle TN, but now that was a dwarf compared to the monster you have there.

I bet a lot of folks would walk right by seng that big, well cause you are just not looking for something that size when looking for seng - so it would be easy to miss.

I think this one was the \"bonus\" root. The top did not grow up, but as I was digging another one I found this one. I'll be going back up there this year to see if I can find a couple others that were dormant last year.
