Hey guys just wanted to let u all know the Ginseng Documentary that me an Terry was in is now finished. For the ones of you that don't know wat im talking about me an terry were approached last year by two guys from Berkly University in California wanting to do a documentary on Ginseng in Appalachia, and we agreed to be in it and help them. It is a good film and quite interesting it goes from the digging aspect all the way to the shipping out. Anyways for anyone wanting to check the trailor out here is the link: www.rootsandhollers.com If you all have problems with the link just go to google and type in roots and hollers and it will also take you all their. They sent me a copy in the mail yesterday and i really enjoyed.

Glad to hear that Terry and you are in the film.

I made a donation and they said they would send me a copy of the film along with some wild seng. But only if they hit their goal. I see they have not hit the goal yet. And they will refund my donation if they don't hit the goal.

I'm surprised they have not recieved more support since I donated.

They posted the trailer on here a while back.

Hey guys sorry i dont geto on here as much but i dont have internet acces like i use to . But i didn't know they had posted it on here. But anyways i wish people would also donate more to this film. it has educated so many people about our love for the hunt and the decline in habitat and the ginseng itself. These guy s also worked tremendously hard on this film. They shot many of hrs of film for just a 30 minute film. They made at least 3 trips to Ky west virgina, and western virgina. Also i made diggers out of them. On their last day of filming on one of their trips they didn't have to film so they asked if they could tag along and go senging with us. Once we showed them again wat to look for they took off and started digging for theirselves. You ought to have seen the look On Patricks face when he fount his first bunch of seng (a big foour prong at that)i dont know who was more excited me or him. But anyways i hope they reach their goal too.

Hillbilly,
I hope they can include a part in the film that makes mention of growing your own ginseng.

In your post you wrote:

I agree a decline in habitat along with the potential for over harvest has put pressure on \"Wild\" ginseng.

I am sure many would benefit if the film crew could make time for showing how to plant and grow ginseng. Wouldn't that be helpful to many that have hunted for years that are now finding it harder and harder to find ginseng. I know many depend on digging ginseng for extra income to help them survive in some areas of the USA. I am not against digging wild ginseng when done correctly.

Just a thought. The film crew might even be able to film a Wildgrown.com forum member planting a bed of ginseng. And no I am not plugging for it to be me.

I would be interested in making a donation if they include showing how to plant ginseng seeds in a \"Wild Simulated\" style. Maybe they have already thought of this. If so that is a good thing in my opinion.
