What rodent type of animals does one have to be aware of with ginseng plants and how do you deter them. I am in WV and we have lots of varmits.

I was out deerhunting last weekend on my patch. No deer came by at the time, however I did see a chipmunk, and a field mouse.

I read something about mice and moles getting into the ginseng. Does this seem to be a problem? Also do deer eat the plant? We have loads of deer.

all of the above like to eat our plants. I have a big problem with deer, myself.

My husband has been a digger of ginseng for 60 years,he was wondering if u r making a bed...he said moles eats the seng in the ground & deers eat the tops off...if u r wanting to make a ginseng bed email me & i will tell u how he said to do it.....
