Billy,

Good to hear from you! How are you doin?

Yes, life is a good thing. And every day I'm thankfull for what the Lord has given me. Especially things He has created. Even our hard cold winters that remind me that it's just a season that will come to an end. And it makes me just that much more appreciative of spring when things of nature come back to life.

I look forward to SPRING too!!!

Thanks for the pics.

Hey Billy,

You got that right - I am sure ready for spring to come on in too.

I got out yesterday and planted two more beds of ginseng and have 4-5 oz seed left from the last pound I bought - going to try and get the rest planted this week if the weather will cooperate.

I have somehting new to look forward to this year - I have planted over 3 lbs of ginseng seed which should be something like 20,000 + little 3 leafers to sprout up this spring. Not that is going to be a bueatiful site. Can't wait for that and for those big old roots to send up tops in my seed bed.

I went out there yesterday and looked over that bed and just imagined what those tops will look like.

Something I really look forward to is the creek water warming up enough for those small mouth bass and black perch to start bighting.

Can't wait !

Something else I like about spring is planting the garden and watching that start to grow. Man that first big juicy red ripe home grown tomato is sure nice. Here is some I grew year before last.

If you like a Big Meaty and very tasty tomato - those are Burpee's Brandy Boy - excellent tomato. I start my own tomatoes from seed about Mid March and they are ready to plant out in the garden end of April.

In early march I will be planting lettuce, green onions, snap peas - then about the end of April, tomatoes, sweet corn, squash, cucumbers, then later on melons and okra.

Yum Yum.

I'm with you, Billy! I don't mind the changing of the seasons, and a little snow is refreshing, but I'm over it now. I'm ready for the warmer weather to come my way. I started a diet the first of the year, now every morning I get on the treadmill and watch the news. The other day, the station I was watching showed a picture of flowers blooming in Spain. Seeing that really got me wishing for warmer days.

On a side note, I'm ready for April to get here. I took a handful of stratifed seeds from last year and planted them in a good size pot that I stole from my Mom's place (I'm sure there will be some questions for me this spring). When those come up, I'll know to go out and start checking my patches.

Guys it sure is nice to hear from you all and chat a little bit :)

classicfur - I am doing prety good I have learned that my back and hip area is permantly effected by that degenarative Art: that I have had since my 20`s and that its severity of pain willvary also sometimes not being that bad and other times getting me down like it did this past season, but there are breaks for now.I am very thankful for the news the good Lord let the doctors teach me about my body and will try to go easyer in the Mountians than I always have so as not to injur myself more than I need to....that will help alot and I have lost 46 pounds so far im trying to loose about 100 pounds by August 15th,,if I loose 50 more I will be happy my doctor said that would help more than anything else for me because I have a strong upper body so im woring on it :)

Tn-hunter man I can honestly say that i do not envy many things, but tonight i am taking with envy looking at those lucious hearty looking tomatos !!! wow !!! me and my wife both are ever lovers of fresh garden tomatos and those look very very good.I will have to plant a few of those this year.Thank you very much for the photos and the name....Yum Yum,i cant wait.....Nothing better than wading the ole home creek where you no the honey holes lol....thats always a jar of fun..

Jacquo - That is very interesting about the new idea and checking for the tops up going by that, let me know how well that works out for you.I might want to grab a pot to..Every bit of information realy helps in gingsenging. The guys on hear are realy good with helping one another thats for sure....There is a wealth of information on this site..the 2 guys above are very helpful with matters like this Classicfur,& Tn-hunter..

In saying that I would just like to give a thank you to Mike Lee for this site it is a help to alot of new and older growers and hunters...so Thanks Mike.....
