TOPIC: 2012 Season TNhunter

Good morning folks...

Like many of you - I'm sure - I am up and ready to go this morning.

Got all of my gear together, a good hearty breakfast cooked and ate...

Heading out on a long walk trip today to a place that is not easy to get to at all.

Hunted it last 3 years ago and did very well.

If I do make it back home from this long walk (Good Lord willing...) expect to have some nice pics to show.

If I don't - then I will have seen some real bueaty, deep hollows, slick rock creeks, waterfalls, hillsides covered with companionplants and wild ginseng.

Just starting to see a hint of daylight here... so heading out for about a 2-3 mile hike.

It was sure nice to get out today and dig some root.

I ended up with 10 oz - not as good as I had hoped for, but still a good day.

Below is what it looked like where I was hunting today.

Nice 3 prong with a big wad of berries, with some MHF gowing beside it.

Decent root and a excellent wad of fat berries.

Oh... I like that.

Here is another decent 3 - again with a nice wad of berries...

Found quite a few 4 prongers too...

The 4 below had a nice wad of berries and there were a few others growing nearby..

Another nice 4 and my ole reliable seng digger...

It rained a time or two - not bad but check out the jewel weed below.

That's why they call it jewell weed.

I did not even notice it until cleaning them up... but I actually found a nice little man root today.

He's a little skinney... but has two arm (and has them raised up), and two legs.
