TOPIC: Growing Ginseng in South East Asia ?

Possible ?

Country ; Cambodia.

Site : Under Mangoes trees.Shady.No secondary undergrowth. Med Dry loamy soils 7 months. Wet 5 months. Prone to flood every 10 years.

Warm all year round and humid.

Is this feasible or absolutely not possible ?

This would not be possible. Ginseng needs that long winter dormacy about 5 months, with several days with below freezing temperatures.

I agree with Rootmans. Also, another poor circumstance is the amount of wetness for many months of the year.

Perhaps in your mountainous region? However as Rootman said, the cold cycle is important to this plant... it wants the winter dormancy.
