TOPIC: golden hillside

golden hillside 13 years 6 months ago #12974

I was going to dig some plants yesterday where I'd planted seed 12 years ago.

Just about all the plants were golden yellow and I estimated at least 200 - 3 prongs and plenty of two's and 1 prongers that had started from the berries.

But after digging about 15 of the largest 3 prongs I decided two stop and give the plants another year or two. The are in a pretty secure area so I think they are safe.

Rootman,
How do the roots look size and shape wise? I have seng beds varying from 1 to 4 years old. So I have a ways to go to get to 10 to 12 years.

Latt,

The main bodies of the roots were probably 2 1/2 inches by 3/4 inch thick but I think they will increase by 1/3 in size by next year. I have dug some roots where the ground was richer at 10 year old and have fairly nice sized roots. I just don't think 7 years is enough and keep that wild look when it grows to fast.

I know a guy that had planted six pound nine yrs ago, someone got in his patch and dug all of it... and it was very close to his house..that is a shame..it won't do for him to be able to prove who got it...
