Thats not a report that I want to hear my friend.I know how that you love and look forward to every season as I do and I sure do not like for it to get cut short on you like that.

I hope that you can get a few more trips anyway Tn

I feel your pain buddy.....I to dig in middle Tn, I have found the seng is all but gone below the Highland Rim that skirts around upper middle TN. Above the Highland Rim there may be a little while left, but it ain't looking good either!:( Happy birthday anyway....My motto is \"A bad day in the woods beats a good day at work\".

Yep Guys - this drout has been a real bummer this year.

And the heat has not let up either. We were bumping 100 yesterday and I was down on that bluff when it was that hot and had nearly a 2 mile walk back home.

I spent at least 6-7 hours in the woods yesterday and the last 3 the temp was near 100 degrees. Boy that will sure zap your strength.

I know I could hunt a few more places but also know it is a fact now that 90% or more of the seng in those hollows is dead now and tops gone to the point that you just cant find em anymore.

Almost all companion plants are dead too. I found one stalk of bainberry sporting the dolls eye yesterday and it was yellow and I did still find some maidenhair fern hanging on but not much.

I have tried to think of some places that would be under a tall north facing bluff - might be a chance of finding some there still living. I have one place in mind that I may check out next weekend.

My wife and family have birthday plans for me today so I will not get to hunt today.

I noticed a big box from \"Cabela's\" arrived UPS this week. Looked about the right size for those \"Rocky Snake Boots\" I dropped a hint for my birthday present :-)

Also - checked out our 7 day just now and it looks like some relief may be on the way.

It's going to be near 100 again today, but the next several days looks like it is going to cool down and chances of rain.

That would sure be nice. Don't think it will help our seng much - it's just too far gone, but might make a few hang on a bit longer and may help those berries that have been planted.

Good Luck to all you guys going senging today !

Hope you find a big pile.
