Nice!!!
You may have to thin them out soon by digging some up and transplanting the ones you dig up to a new spot this September. I have to do the same as many of my spots are too thick too.
Good luck,
Latt

Hobbler..

Nice looking transplants.

On your two year old stuff, to be honest they are a little behind where I would like to see them at 2 years.

Most look to still be 3 leafers with only a small % of them being 2 prongs.

I would consider them to be doing well if 50% or more were 2 prongs at 2 years old. Excellent if 75% or more were 2 prongs at 2 years and with several of those having 2 prongs with 5 leaf sets on them.

When they are doing really well some 2 year olds will even be smallish 3 prongers, just a very few.

I think it was hillhopper that posted a pic of a 3 year old 4 prong this year. No doubt his conditions are excellent to be doing that.

Yours may be fine, and may grow and mature just fine, but may be a little slower than you want.

Instead of harvesting in 7 years, you may have to wait for 10-12.

My opinion is from very limited experience though. I have only been growing for 3 years now, and my place - I know is not excellent, but I did have around 50% of my 2 years olds as 2 prongs, and some of my 3 year olds this year are 3 prongs but only a very small percentage.

The soil and companion plants can be perfect, but if the shade is too deep, they will develop slower.

Would be good to hear from some of the other growers on this.

Thanks
