TOPIC: Starting to pop up.... updated pictures 4/3/12

Re:Starting to pop up.... updated pictures 4/3/12 11 years 11 months ago #17228

Latt, thanks for the advice there in the fall on planting ginseng seed. The ones in the planter boxes are the seeds I started. I have a few things starting to pop, a few pics of them.

Nice pics Bryan,
You might want to put a 1'' layer of mulched leaves on the soil surface to hold in a bit of moisture. This also prevents the dirt from splashing up on the leaves and stem during a rain and will help prevent disease too.

Nice looking pic's. I can't wait to get back up to the mountains and check my patch there. I hope that area of mine is looking as good as yours!

Latt, Once more, thanks for the advice. I will put some mulched leaves on them asap. The info from this site and all the guys that grow has been a very big help. Thank you all.

Thanks, I have a few patches in the woods that I have been checking on, the plus for me there is that I can see them from the house. The little two pronger in the pic is from a one year old rootlet that I planted in the fall. Have a several nice ones starting to come up. Dont have to worry abut anyone \"checking\" my beds as I dont have many neighbors and no one around here hunts ginseng that I know of and I have ask alot of people in my area. I will try to put some more pics soon.
