Hey I have a qusetion since i'm kinda new to all this stuff. After you dig the root and you plant the seeds back, are you supposed to just throw the berries in the ground or are you supposed to take the seeds out've the berries and plant the individual seeds back or does it really even matter?

For fresh seeds I believe it's best to leave the seeds in the berry.

I plant the whole berry too.

It is not uncommon here in my area for it to be extremely dry soon after berries ripen. Man it sure was this year, bad dry and for several weeks.

I think leaving those seeds inside the berry, and planting them around 3/4\" deep (could go deeper if lose soil) will help keep them from drying out and hang on until the wetter late fall weather arrives.

I always cover them good with lose top soil and then leaf mulch and then mash that down with my foot to compress it around those berries.

I have been planting (like below) in several hollows that I dig every other year around here and it is always nice a few years later to find a little patch growing in a straight line like that. I know I have been there before.
