My best guess is the buds the 23rd year.

nice roots all im going with
at least 25 on the first 2

and around 53 on the last root,,,,,by the way im curious did everyone count the next years bud to compensate for the first year of growth that occurs when the plant emerges from the seed. i noticed on the example of how to count the scars it omitted that 1 year.
