TOPIC: Bigguns!

Tried some new spots and struck outbut then went to an a good spot I found last year and worked it out some. I only dug 4 but they all had very long necks!

Just got back from a new spot here in Indiana. Found some great plants. But all the stems are starting to break off pretty easy, making it easy to lose a root before you even begin to dig. The thing is all the plants in these woods were green as could be, but you can tell that fall is coming on fast.

I think it really depends where you are and how old the plant is. One place I went yeserday had some nice old ones that were yellow and the young ones were still green with berries. Today I dug a real small 3 stem just to take a look at the stem and it was the one on the right in the pic! Go figure. This year I noticed most stems so far are hanging with the root real good. I wonder if it has something to do w/ all the rain we've had up here.
