Got out for a few hrs today. The nights have been getting cold we had two good frosts so far n wast even sure if any survived. I found a few not much to dig but got a lb of green shang heres a couple I found.

Don,

You have plenty of time to dig some more sang! Heck, the sang in the pics is mostly green with only a few showing a slight hint of yellow. Around here, it usually takes 4 good Frosts to really kill off Ginseng and depending upon the canopy and understory, many plants will last quite awhile beyond the 4th good Frost. As more Frosts hit, look more to ridges along lakes and rivers as the fog that develops due to colder air settling in over the warmer waters, tends to protect Ginseng and other plants from the killing effects of Frosts.

Dont get me wrong im happy with a lb green. My prob is that ive got wood orders to fill up to 60 cord now had to turn people away got to get cutting. Plus bow season starts the 27th n once that starts I live in the woods . Ill Keep my eye open fir it but I always keep my eyes up when hunting. I wish I dug enough to retire tnhunter lol this is my best yr ever with a 4 to 1 drying ratio im lookin at around 8 ta 9 lbs of dry shang Yahoo.
