TOPIC: Scouting this weekend

Well guys,
It's a little quiet on the board tonight and I guess some of you are preparing for a Father's Day weekend event. I hope to get back out and do some more scouting tomorrow since the weather looks good. I hope to see some good pictures and reports from many of you as we go into this coming week. I'm planning on going out for a little hike. I'll get some pics. Good idea Hugh.

Went out in a new spot (100 acre woods) Wed. Mixed hardwood with a lot of pine. No Ginseng to be found. Got back in the corner 10 acres thou and it turned in to primarily a maple and beech wood forest with nice deep ravines.

One of those deals where yea just know it is ginseng habitat. Found over a dozen small 2 to 4 year old plants but nothing larger or older. So someone had dug all the mother plants at some point in the last 5 years.

Still good to see ginseng in the wild.

Short hike to look at an area I've dug before. Saw maybe about 20 diggalble plants and this nice 4 prong.

I saw 50 - 60 plants including this cool clump of them. As I recall I dug an nice old one there a couple of years ago.

I walked this branch connecting to the river above.

Here is a small of ginseng that I found just to the left of the branch in the picture above.
