I agree hillbilly sometimes a 2 prong can be un -normal if you will, and it is very easy to see when it is.When a 2 prong has leafs that are as big and spread as a nice 4 prong I will gurantee you it is the wrong top for the root, somehow,,,,because I have found one like that, and Caleb found one like that and Lee found 1 like that and all three have been very mature roots one was 14 years old and weighed near an ounce.

It is also very easy to tell the new 2`s also they will be very small in stalk, small, limbs and even smaller leaves and that will be 98 o/o of the 2 prongs found, but once in awhile you find a odd one and it is very neat I record and take a photo of them.

Hillbilly sory I missed your call I will get back to you.

I also remember Billy it was a dandy. I also remember that two prong that Caleb dug and the only reason you all dug it was that you could tell it was a mature plant and i remember it having a good root on it as well.

So all in all the tops don't really matter or the amount of prongs but usually we all can tell whether or not it is mature.

I dug down on an big two prong plant a couple weeks ago to see what the neck scars looked like. It was all by itself, n o berries, and huge leaves. It has a real nice looking neck very thick and you can bet I'll be back after that one in the next few weeks.
